Requirement for IELTS

Dear Members,

I would like to know if the IELTS or any language test is a compulsory for Express entry application ?

My profile:
My Age is 29 yrs.
Indian Passport Holder, Here in UK on Tier-2, sponsored by my current company.
I did my Masters from University of Greenwich in 2011 and I've been working as a Mobile Application Developer since. My relatives(Paternal Uncle) is a Canadian Citizen. I would like to apply for an express visa entry, but just wondered whether any language test is necessary as my Masters Degree is from UK (in English) with 6+ yrs is specialist/professional job.

You need to do IELTS general or CELPIP-G. Since you in UK you can only do IELTS-G.

Even a native UK person has to do the test as it just starts everyone on a common footing when applying

How long are the processing times for the application ? For say, I apply on July 20th online, how long does it take for a decision to come out ?

1) Apply online (EE)
2) get an Invitation To Apply (ITA), as per current trend minimum 480+ CRS points is required to get an ITA
3) submit all docs within 2 months after getting ITA (e-APR)
4) get Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) from IRCC
5) Decision will be made on your application in approximately 6 months or less
