Hi the recommended amount will be Fees + living expenses + return airfare.... so if your course is for 1 year and the fees is $12000, Living expenses at $10000 per year, you will need to show a minimum of $14000-15000.

If you are applying under SPP, you will need to pay 1 semester fees upfront and purchase a GIC for $10,000...

Thanks for your urgent reply. Actually it's my sister who wants to apply.
By the way what is SPP? is that the best option to have?
So my sister gave the option to take 1 year or 2 year course?
My sister came here as a temporary worker and would luke to change her status as a student because she's very much interested going back to school and start a career here.

What is your sisters Nationality, SPP is a streamlined process by Canada which reduces documentation and processing time but is only available for prospective students from India and China.

If she wants to change her status within Canada, I would suggest that she chooses a university/college and then hires a good immigration attorney to take her case.

I received an approval letter via email today. These are my funds:
~17k CAD - Parents' account (bank certificate + 6 months of statements)
~5k CAD - Personal account (bank certificate + 6 months of statements)
~20k CAD - Research funding stated in the admission letter.

I will be attending a two-year master's (thesis) program at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.

Thanks for your responses.
My sister is a Filipino, so SPP is not for her then.
For my sister case, can I and my other sister allowed to show some financial support instead of parents?

Yes... That wouldn't be a problem... Immediate family can sponsor...

Hi guys, please help me clear this out regarding sponsorship:

1. I got a sponsor from school where i am recently working, willing to support my studies in Canada, what particular documents will my sponsor have to prepare?

2. As personal applicant, do I still show personal bank statement?

I really appreciate your inputs!

Thanks
