Required Proof of Funds

can you point me to the source of this information, Bcoz a few folks are suggesting that funds in the name of your spouse will not be accepted as valid POF.

The oldest mention of this information is a post on this site from a member more than 5 years ago who claims this is the response from NDVO. It has been copy-pasted as traditional wisdom since then with suitable changes applied only to the POF amounts. It probably doesn't occur to the people making those changes in POF amounts that maybe CIC's other POF requirements can also change over time.
