Hi everyone,

I wonder if my husband and I can start collecting Police Certificates from the countries we have stayed for more than 6 months. I know that requesting police certificates can take a long time, so I want to have them ready even before creating my Express Entry profile (I will be eligible to apply under CEC stream in November).

I read on the forum that some applications were rejected because of outdated police certificates (police certificates were obtained before submitting the EE application and thus were considered outdated). I am so confused! I thought police certificates are generally valid for a year and as long as a person has already left a country.

Thanks so much in advance for your kind support!

In my opinion, one should start PCC formalities once you get ITA.

If you visited a foreign country and lived there for 6 months then you should apply for the PCC immediately and it will be valid forever as long as you don't visit that country again. Some countries like the United States take 15 weeks to provide a PCC, so you want to start now. I have already gotten an ITA for all the countries I have visited even though I haven't gotten an ITA yet.

As far as your local country is concerned (where you currently reside), it makes sense to wait until you get an ITA to work on that PCC.

I completely agree to this .... one more thing you can check how much score you are getting in EE profile and if it is >/=460 then you will get the ITA once you create the profile and then you will not have time to get PCC from all the countries .... if it is less than 450 then will have time .....
