Looking for advice from experienced and seniors members please

Landed as Federal Skilled Worker in 2006 along with wife and 3 kids. Could not find job, struggled a lot and then after some time went back. Visited few times again. Residency obligations could not met, but PR renewed in 2011 and in 2016. Moved back to Canada permanently in 2018, renewed PR in 2021. Now wanted to apply citizenship. I have two questions

Q 1: Residency obligation and other requirements will be verified only for 5 years (2017-2022) from the date of citizenship application or will be verified from landing year, which was in 2006?

Q 2: Will there be any other complications or possibility of RQ due to previous residency obligations issue?

Q1: Correct.

Q2: No, as long as you have your three full years since 2018.

Hi Armoured
Thanks for your clarification, but sorry I could not understand properly your explanation.,
For Q1 you mean correct for 5 years or from landing ?
For Q 2, From June 2018, until July 2021, we stayed full 3 years here without going. But after that we went out for 2 months, from Aug 2021 and came back in Nov 2021, due to brother Sudden Death. Will that create any issue?

The answer is very clear and posted on IRCC's website. "You must have been physically in Canada for at least 1,095 days (3 years) during the 5 years before the date you sign your application." I don't see how that is difficult to understand.

Correct, five most recent years.

You'll have to do your own math - if you have 1095 days (ideally with some additional buffer of days) in the last five, that's the requirement.

Thanks a lot for taking time and providing further clarification. I have one more question, I will be thankful If you can clarify that also.
Our passports were lost in 2018 out of Canada, it was reported to police and got new passports but after after some time lost passports were found from our own custody and were already expired. Now we have both new and lost (expired) passports both passports are coming in eligibility period of citizenship application. Should I attach the same explanation letter with application or provide explanation ONLY IF asked during or before interview.

I would include them both in the application, but explain why you have overlapping passports

IMO no need to explain as the new passport is self-explanatory. But yes include both passports as they cover the eligibility period.

Thanks for your advise, also can you please advise about 2 more clarifications.
1. My child just turned 18 last Dec and will fill tax first time. But citizenship application required min 3 years tax filling out of 5 years. What should i do, should i need to wait 2 more years or i can apply now with tax filling for 2021 only.
2. Should we apply citizenship together as family or we can apply online individually. I am reading many post that online applications are fast processing.

The years where she didn't have to file a tax report also count. The requirement isn't to file taxes, but to comply with the tax requirements.
She's already good to go : she just needs to put "no" for both boxes in the previous years, and maybe put yes to both for 2021 once she sends it (probably very soon).

And no idea whether online applications are faster... But do you really want everyone to be processed separately? It's quite nice to celebrate together after all... :)
