Request to pause 60 days countdown (Please advice)

Hello everyone
I applied for self employed in April 2015
File received May 2015
I received AOR + receipt June 2015
Intent to reject January 2016 (they are requesting i take the IELTS and Tefaq exams)
The thing is there is no way i can register for the exams, take them and get the results in 60 days!!
My consultant suggested i register for the exams and send them proof of registration along with a letter requesting them to stop the countdown until my results are out.
He said that he has done this before and it worked they will wait as long as there is proof of registration.
Has anyone faced the same problem before?
Do you know for sure if they will wait for the results?

Skilled Workers must take IELTS in advance of applying and for this reason no one in this section of the forum will have experienced the same problem as you are experiencing now.

In my opinion all you can do is ask for the extension and hope CIC agrees.

Alternatively, you may want to decline this ITA, and then take the IELTS, get the results, and accept the next ITA you get after that.

OP has applied as self employed - not Express Entry. There is no ITA to decline. If he withdraws he has to start the application process again from scratch which takes years.
