Can you request to do Oath Ceremony outside Canada if you have a specific reason for why you want to do that? Will they allow that in certain circumstances or is it a firm No?

They only give you a weeks notice before the ceremony so it's possible that one cannot buy a plane ticket in time too. So what happens then?

You can certainly request, but it’s a near-certainty that they will tell you to notify them when you’re back in Canada, and only put you back in the queue for oath when you do.

You want to be Canadian? Well, then live here. No excuses.

Yeah, under very very very very very special circonstances.
Something like having your oath ceremony during a tennis grand slam tournament you're a heavy favorite to win and you've already told Tennis Canada you wanna represent the country asap may clear the bar, logistics like "I can't get flight tickets on time" will not.

You should assume they will decline your request to take the oath outside of Canada. Almost no one has been approved. The circumstances need to be extreme and even then, there's a very low chances of approval.

You can buy a plane ticket in a week. 100% doable and many here have done it. It will be expensive but it can certainly be done. If you really cannot make the flight, then you will need to contact IRCC and ask them to postpone the oath.
