Hello Everyone,
This is my first post here...
Application Submitted: 23 June, 2017 (Myself & Spouse)
PPR with Photograph: 12 September 2017
PP Received: 14 September 2017
Passport was sent back requesting new photos.
PP + New photos Received: 29 September 2017
Waiting for PP + Copr!
My concern here is ... My wife needs to be in India by November 1st for her father's surgery but I havent received any update from CIC(they have both our passport). My wife is with me in canada in her work permit.When I contacted my Local MP they said my application was approved on September 12th but they cannot expedite the process.
Can someone advise what should be my next step? Feeling confused!!!

I landed on Aug 24 - I got a photo request last week, I have sent them the photo. which were received last Tuesday. I thought it would take 10-15 days max to get my PR card but after reading this thread, looks like its ****** crappy process. Do you guys think I can make my travel plans in December?
I was told my photo is in queue. I don't what the means, especially the dates after me has been approved.
Hi could you please advise when you call cic normally? U tried around 830 and in the afternoon but they always say they are experiencing high volume call and cannot transfer me and just hanged me up.... I have mailed my photo Oct 10th and delivered 12th, I just want to make sure if they have update my case since the letter I received saying if I didnt mail my new photo within 30 days my application will be considered cancelled...
Hey, may I ask if cic would contact you after they received the photo? or they just received it and working on it until get another update to you?
Not sure, why they request for Passport. But if you have passport then she can travel back to India and you can wait for PR card for her. In worse case, she can apply for PRTD.Hello Everyone,

True.. at least see some moment..Congratulations to all whose application is approved.
So they are processing 14th August photo requests at the moment. That's good. I thought they were stuck at 27th July.
You can plan any travel within Canada or US (Landing through Border) but in case out of country and option is only fly back then have to apply for PRTD

I called the call center, the agent said they are dealing with backlog and it may take 2 months or more depending on the number of received photos. She said they are processing August 9th photos.
I asked if I can apply for the urgent PR card, she replied since this is your fist card, you can’t.
The only solution is to apply for PRTD from the respective visa office.
I wonder in which part of CIC there is no backlog!
