Request new photographs for PR Card after landing - add your case here

Hello Everyone,

We completed our landing on July 12, 2016 and I received an email for new Photos on August 24, 2016. I sent them out on August 26, 2016 via DHL and based on the tracking #, it was delivered to CIC on August 31 and was received by Dan.

Since then I have received no update and I called CIC a couple of times only to be told that CIC does not update receipt of photos and they'll contact me if they need anything else. And that I have to wait for a "few" weeks before I check again.

Does anyone know how long it generally takes CIC to process PR card after receipt of new photos? I see posts here that say some received in a week's time and some in 2 weeks and some in 3.

P.S. My wife received her PR card on August 24 without having to go through this new photo requirement

CIC received my new photos on Aug 19 and my PR card arrived in the mail 3 weeks after. This may depend on where you live too, since they send from Sydney, NS.

Landed June 26 at Pearson Toronto
Left back to my country on July 10
Photo request August 16th
Received in Sydney August 22nd
PR card printed August 31st
Received August 6th.

For those who are outside canada,
Took photos from Outside Canada sent it to a relative through email who then went and printed n put the name of the studio where i took the pic out of Canada and posted to Sydney.
My PR card was processed normally n received at my Canadian address without any issues.
Wishing luck to everyone still waiting.

That's excellent news - congratulations. Would you be able to let me know how you came to know about when the card was printed? I have called CIC twice since sending the photos on August 26 and they don't seem to be able to tell me anything

I havent got any update on my PR and contacted CIC 3 times already and they dont have any update.
I also asked specific question regarding PR processiing time and they are saying my application is under process and they cant comment.

Very sad but please help me what should i do now !!!

My wife landed Apr 3rd, we received the photo request letter on June 10th and CIC received the photos 15th June through registered mail, its been more than 5 months yet PR card is still under process. Calling CIC and case specific inquiry form are not helpful as they just tell you to wait.

Exact same situation.. Landed on the 7th of April, received email for resubmitting photos on the 9th of June, sent photos on 15th of June with unregistered mail, then sent another photos again on the 22nd of Aug with a registered mail, Dan had received the photos on the 26th of Aug and till now nothing.. I just called CIC and they told me that my application is still under process..

Landed in the last week of February, I was requested to submit new photos in May. Sent new photos in June via courier mail but still no news about the PR Card status after 3.5 months.
The question is if the new photos are again supposed to be rejected, do they send another letter requesting for new photos or not, i.e. is it logical to wait more to receive a reply from CIC (either the PR card or another photo request letter)?

They gave me 90 days to submit the new photos. Will they get back to me before 90 days...or do I wait 90 days before realizing the photos have reached or not.

Something that really annoys me is the fact I asked the immigration officer to change
my photos with the new ones, and she refused to do that and kept the old photos, agg

now I need to send new photos to Sydney (when they request it)

On the other hand, checking my Canadian Address, I noticed that the agent
only completed the Canadian Address but not the mailing address, and didn't
check the box "The mail address is the same home address", do you think
there is a problem here?

by the way I am outside Canada right now.

They won't notify by any means to let you know, you should always use tracking service when sending to CIC.
Not sure where you sent the photos from, it may take a week or two to reach CIC in Sydney if you're using regular mail.
You may call CIC hotline to see if they have started processing your card.

FYI, I got my PR card 3 weeks after CIC received my photos (I used Canada Post Xpresspost), and I am located in BC.

Hi there,

Landed around a month ago, myself, my wife and daughter.

We handed the officer 2 5*7 photos each, one with the date and name and studio name written on its back, the other empty back. He took one of each and handed us back the one written on its back.

3 days ago, I received an email to resubmit my 2 photos.. The letter had my UCI only and was addressed to me only as opposed to the 3 of us.

Should I submit my photos only, or all the 3 of us? If all 3, how can I specify it? They mentioned to send the photos along the letter with my UCI.

Upon landing and the officier taking 1 photo only and giving us back 1, shouldn't we all resubmit the 2 photos?

Any problem in taking the photos outside of Canada?

Hey,

So I got my PR card and my spouse did not. She got a letter to say her photographs did not meet the specifications, but some how mine did and they were the exact same!!!!!!!

We are travelling to the Caribbean in 2 weeks for a wedding that we are both in the bridal and groom parties!

They never took our work permits when we landed so she can still technically board the plane but will she get hassle when we land in Toronto with her CoPR? Even if we explain what happened. Its kind of CIC's fault too, as how can my photographs be ok and her's are not? Both were the same size and taken in shoppers!
