Request Letter And Job Issues

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit confused and don't want to come across as irregular or lying to the CiC but I've got need for advise on next steps, I'd really appreciate a help quickly as I've already used a day out of the 7 day deadline:

I received a request letter from the CiC but here's the issue:

1. I resigned from my last job after I had submitted my application.

2. I'm currently in a new job but have not been given an offer letter or paid yet. The time-frame of the job (it's for a fixed term) however has been verbally communicated and I have an email of recommendation from the Director of the company to the Head of Projects and Rec on my availability to start work immediately.

3. My mum also brought to my notice that I may have put a different year for her birth year online as this was different from what she had in her documents. Month and day remain the same.

4. I had to withdraw $869 from my POF account to pay for the visa fees. Some interest has however accrued on my Mutual funds account though it is a few hundred short of the amount withdrawn for visa payments.

5. I am expecting payments from this new job next month which can be used to shore up accounts again.

6. I have also added in my car as part of assets I could easily liquidate for funds.

I have filled the IMM form but I have attached an explanation letter concerning numbers 3-6, will it suffice?

How do I manage the occurrence of number 1-2 (job change). Please help.

Hi, some general feedback and opinions:

- CIC requires applicants to update them on any significant change in circumstances. I believe leaving a job and/or getting a new one is included, especially if you're applying under skilled worker category
- If you already have many years of past full time work experience under your NOC, then it shouldn't compromise your FSW application if and which job you have now.
- Always be truthful, so it's good that you initiated correction and explained the incorrect info as soon as you found out.
- CIC requires that the POF be maintained at the required level throughout the application process.
--If you're pre-ITA then best to replenish that asap. They'll ask for recent transaction history eventually, but the final value (upon submission of reqts for ITA) matters
--If you're post-ITA, then likely you've already submitted your POF docs and the only way for them to detect it going below the required level is if they did their own verification with the bank, which depends on your country's law. Either way, best to replenish that asap.
--There are specific assets that can be declared under POF, but unfortunately a car isn't one of them.

Good luck! :)

Thank you Arthur for the detailed advice, these guys have to pay me quickly. Hopefully will close out the issue on POF soon. Thanks again

I'm confused...what request letter did you get exactly? I've never heard of an Additional Document Request for an Express Entry PR application that encompasses all of the things you just outlined...

Also, for point 6, if you're referring to the Settlement Fund Requirement for the Federal Skilled Workers Programme under Express Entry - a car can't be used; you'd have to sell it and deposit the funds to your account, then get a letter for that account, along with evidence of the car sale, to use it as Proof of Funds

Regarding points 1 and 2, if you applied under Federal Skilled Workers, your change in job is not relevant, nor do you need to update IRCC about a change in employment unless they've specially requested this information, which I've never seen before (again, what was the request they made of you?). Your PR Application is based on the number of years of eligible work experience you've accumulated (i.e. your past employment at and before you submitted your eAPR). It has nothing to do with your current employment.

Regarding your new employment, I don't know the specific labour laws in your country but, as an HR Professional, I generally recommend that you never consider yourself employed until you receive an actual offer letter (in fact, as much as possible, you should never leave one job to start another, or start working in a new job without having an offer letter in hand). Otherwise the employer can reneg on their 'offer' to you at any time and leave you hanging. Please ask your new employer to pony up that offer letter ASAP so you can protect yourself - but of course ask them nicely :). Verbal communication and an emailed recommendation outlining your availability are not adequate evidence of employment.

Hi,

The request was for information to be filled in the Schedule A of the Background Information Form.

I'm considering an alternative means of replenishing my funds. I also hear you concerning the supposed new job. I'll note this. Thank you
