Request for passport

I am receiving emails from CIC, regarding updates to my account. I understand that my application is being processes as i read about the same situation in this forum.
Can anyone tell me about when will they send me the passport request . I applied on 12 July, 2016 for september intake,

It's depends on the processing time (country and time specific), which you had to do after you applied. In my case, it was 8 weeks, I got passport req after 7 weeks. And it took total of 9 weeks to get the passport back counting from the time of application. Time between Passport req and return depends on how far your visa office is (it may take 1-10days).

I applied online in June 1st from within the United States, medical results passed on August 8, and no updates so far. Study permit from within USA are processes in Los Angeles visa office, which is very slow. Also, they usually don't reply to emails. The processing time shown online definitely does not apply to online applications. Mine has been almost 3 months, and from what I have read that is the common processing time.

I too applied from US, on 12 July, no updates so far. Receiving blank emails from CIC.
Still waiting on it.

YEAh, I did everything upfront. All the documents are completed.

Hi Everybody,
On August 19 th 2016, My agent told me that my tracking status showed passport collection and they sent my orignal passport to the canadian embassy.
That was the last email I got. But I wasn't convinced very much because she didn't mentioned any thing about passport request letter. Is it just me creating assumptions about my agent being a fraud or is it just how a normal process should take place...Would my passport really be stamped or will it be sent back because of early postage? Am I not screwed?.......

No, they requested it on July 21, and results changed to passed in the website on August 8.

I guess what your agent meant by status change to passport collection, he really meant passport request letter - which is basically a message (pdf) in your CIC account.
You should be fine. Congratulations!

Its been four days my agent notified me about passport. I ask her everyday..No word from her yet.
