Request for Passport, Pls answer my querry...

Dear ALL,

I have received a letter from London office for submitting passport, but my daughters passport given names states only her name without Fathers name or Family name in Surname. Rest all 3 of us have passport Given names with surnames mentioned on it. Now my question is will it be a problem if the family name is not mentioned in the passport for my daughter. In the Canada application form we have given all the required details like the name then the fathers name & the family name, but in passport its only reflecting the name of my daughter without family name.

Now we have a deadline until 10th Sep 2012 & to apply for new passport or all the documentation will take another 3 months or so. We are not sure if Embassy will add the details inside the page, we will check.

What if we submit the passport as we have, what will happen in this case. My worry is will my daughter be able to do the landing with us. There should not be any problem with the Passport given names with the visa names mentioned on the PR.

Can you also tell me what best we can do in this short time as we have waited for this for almost 3 years and 8 months.

Just send it all with a letter explaining why the name isn't in full on the passport.

CHC will only consider the passport name, all passport acrosss the globe will have two entries, Given name and Surname, for example given name may be James and surname may be smith. So full name will be James Smith, CHC will just follow your passport names, and all the documents hereon will be based on that, so till such time your COPR name and passport name matches there will be no problem

So shall i send the passports as is to London Office. In the PR Surname is mentioned and then the Name is mentioned, If she receives her PR without surname will it create problems during landing?

The names in the forms must match with that in passport. So if you have mentioned the surname in the form and there is no surname in PP, then it is a problem

Passport office has entered the name as mentioned in the birthcertificate. It mentions the babys name and then fathers name and mothers name. What we can do in this case now as we have to submit all the passports by 10th Sep 2012.

hi, i am assuming we are not being able to anser your query, can you please be more specific about what names are where
Please advice
Name in PP- Given Name .............. surname.............
Name in PR application - Given Name............... surname.............
Name on RFPR documents Given name ............. Surname...............

now here are the combinations you should look for
1. Name in PP should be same as name you provided on PR application
2. Name on PR apllication should be same as RFPR documents which you have now recevied,
3. This in turn means that RFPR documents will have same name as name on passport, both for Given Name and surname.

in the end it will all come down to what is the name you have on passport, that should match with all canadian documents which you have in hand from RFPR onwards.

so le me get this straight, the name on birth cirtificate matches the passport, but you added the suname on PR application and this name does match with Passport... well this is tricky one. I am surprised passport was issued without surname, how can they just issue the passport with surname column blank, major lapse on part of PP ofice.
Irrespective, for canadian documents, name on birth cirtificate and passport will be considered as legal name till such time it is changed by due legal process in india or in canada.
I will suggest you some thing which might work, but i am not sure about this, so please make a independent researced dicision your self,
there are following options and you can only do following

1.Immediately inform the CIC and Visa Office that there is name mismatch and ask them to correct the details , they might have to resend the paper work to you which will delay the whole process for you by appx 90 to 120 days.
2. i have not come across process of inserting any name change on inside the passport pages, so i am not sure about this,

3. along with rfpr you would have recevied a form to fill up your name and details for family, just fill the correct details this time and attach the copy of birth certificate and a letter explaining every thing. it might just go through.. your luck

Thanks Abhi for all your comments, I am planning to visit the Embassy after the Id holidays & try to see if they can add surname inside the passport page and we can move on with the submissions of passport.
