Request for Additional Documents

I see sometimes people are asked for additional documents. When does this occur and what are they looking for? My husband and I no longer have any phone records after July because of our use of Magic Jack with a non-Canadian number. Plus I don't know what else we'd have, really. It's more or less proof of visits and old proof of living together in our photos...

Hey nyssa, i wouldn't worry too much if you have proof of visits and proof of living together etc, you will only usually get a request for additional documents if they have cause to doubt your relationship (so if you had the bare minimum of evidence submitted maybe). I'd assume that they are looking for as much conclusive evidence that the realtionship is genuine really like statements from family members, emails etc. If it came to it maybe you could try the screen shots idea for your magic jack as suggested in that thread and explain that it has different numbers etc?

I wouldn't worry too much until it happens though, if you've submitted your application its best to wait it out until you get some contact!

Its differnt things like police reports,child custody reports,cort ordered papers.They only ask you for additional proof usually if they require an interview,they will sometimes ask for more proof.But i dont think i ever seen where they have sent a letter stating you to send more proof along the way,you either sent them enough to proceed or you didnt and they ask you for an interview.
Most times they ask for documents people have forgotten to put in,or documents that they require that you didnt know they will.

Thanks guys! That's mostly what I figured, but as always, it's great to get a second opinion. And if nothing else, a thread will hopefully help more than one person. You're always putting my mind at ease

Good thinking And in a process that can get as ridiculous as this one, a second opinion deff never hurt anyone!
