Hello Seniors,

I am a PNP from SINP and recently received PPR from SGVO. I am planning to do a short landing (3 days stay) to SK in coming September. However, I do not have any friends or relatives in SK. I would need an advice from you regarding an address for my PR card to be delivered. My friend stays in Nova Scotia. Would it be a problem if I give my friend's address but not an address of SK? How should I do about that? Please help. Much appreciated with any suggestion.

Thank you very much in advance.

I would suggest you need to stay in SK for a couple of months. In the first place you are a nominee from that province so it is advisable to stay there first.

Thanks to both bestmethod and Crownking for your advice. Yes, I am planning to settle down in SK. My plan is first I will do a short landing to get PR card and go back to SG for a couple of months to tidy up my things. After that I will fly to SK. In fact, I just need a SK address for my PR card to be delivered and for completing landing procedure. Any suggestion regarding an address?
Thanks.

Alright! The only option you have is airbnb. I think PR card you will get for less than a week. Good to know I'm from SG also but plan to land next year. It's quite costly that you need to comeback again to settle your things.

Ensure from your side that you do not give the address of your friend who lives outside of Saskatchewan at port of entry. At POE just let the immigration officer know that you do not have an address in Saskatchewan. He would then give you a form which you need to fill in (later) with the address where you would like the PR card to be sent to. This form then needs to be faxed ( form can be filled online too)
You can have the following options for receiving the PR card
- have address of Airbnb where you would be staying as stated above. The drawback is your trust level and the Airbnb owner living upto it. Remember he is a stranger for you.
- buy a postal address. UPS store provides one with a postal address the cost of which is 80 Canadian dollars (approximately and can change, a month old rate it is) for three months. You can give this address for PR card delivery. The drawback of this is you need to call/email the UPS store to know whether you have received any mail or not.
- give address of your friend who is in Nova Scotia. Have read about it in forum here that an outside address can be given for PR card once you are through with POE formalities. However, would like someone to confirm on it.

All the above then require the PR card to be couriered. The way out for this is to get a PRTD for entry the next time into Canada and collect the card yourself.

Thank you very much indeed for your advice. It does help me a lot. I think I will go for the UPS postal address.
