I submitted my application to CIO on May 16, 2011. So far I haven't receive any response from them! Is this normal? When do I expect a response? Please advise

But don't worry, they have 120 days to send you some news
Some app got their PER in 40 days, but some of us waited the whole 120 (or even more).
Go to the "Applications after 26/6 in any NOC CONNECT HERE TO GET THE STATUS" topic and join the spreadsheet.

Reply from London Visa office

Hello,

I applied to FSW program since May 2011, I applied from UAE to Sydney Nova scotia. I have submitted the medical results and paid the RPRF in December 2012. Last month, I wrote to the visa office in London UK asking about the status of my application they replied as below:

VO reply: "Background checks are outstanding and these may take several months to complete. We will advise further when in a position to do so."

please advise about the time required normally for this stage to be completed, and when do I expect a final decision?
