Replacement of an Immigration Document

Hello everyone,

I made an application for the replacement of my study permit.

I signed and sent it on 3rd, May with regular mail, which takes 3 days according to the standard,
and the processing time is 1 month.

I don't know whether it was received well or not, and I'm still waiting.

As it is paper based application and not available for checking status, I don't know what will happen.

no AOR, no refusal, it's been 27 days since I sent it.

I was relieved because it hasn't returned so far, but,
I'm worried because I read some articles saying that their applications came back refused after 45 days,

Anyway, There is nothing I can do. What do you think?
I'll let you know guys once I get update.

Right, I should have...I thought at that time they will send an AOR letter.

Hello guys whoever lost their visa!

on 31st May I have received an email telling me that They have approved my application and sent a new document.

In summary

18-05-03 Signed/Sent Regular Mail to OSC Ottawa.
18-05-31 Received Email of Approval from CPC Vegreville.
18-06-?? Will get my new hard copy.

Documents in application package (in order)
1. Original IMM 5009 form (filled exactly as what IMM 5545 guides )
2. Photocopy of Passport
3. Photocopy of Birth Cert and Marriage Cert
4. Receipt of a online payment ($30)

There are not many ways to check the status
1. use of express mail which will give you the delivery info
2. IRCC send you an approval email, when they are about to send the mail
3. online check not available for this application

Thanks for posting because I have the same situation

I applied on May 23rd, and it was received to the address on May 29th
but I am worried because I did not receive an update by email or mail informing me that they opened my application even though the processing time has passed the application received on May 29th and the processing time now is June 3rd. I want to travel for vacation with my sisters but If I did not receive it in time I am worried that I can not travel.
I also have sent with my application a copy of my passport and a copy of my Canadian ID, is this ok?
and It is normal that they don't contact you until they made their decision?
and when I came back from Canada post after sending the application I figured that I wrote on the envelope "Replacement of an immigration document" is this ok or I should have written the full name of the application?

Hello. I'm Jebi25 but I forgot my password.
I got my replacement in my hand on 7th, in the evening.
You'll get an email from IRCC once it finishes your application, until that time, there's no way to contact them usually.
a copy of your canadian ID, maybe it works.. or not.
you don't need to write the full name of application, you did just well.

What happened , were you looking to change conditions on the study permit ?

it has some changes,
Issue date is the time when they approve your replacement application.
Expiry date is the same date.
If you have a eTA, it will be renewed for another 5 years from the time approved.
the date 'in force from' will be the same as your lost permit.
Document Number will be changed also.
and your mailing address as well.

If they approve your application, your old permit will become invalid.
the replacement permit will be sent in regular mail, in a small envelope.

Hey, thank you so much for the update!!! I am in the same position and I was wondering when did you actually receive your new hard copy?
