Renting an accommodation as an asylum claimant in Ontario

Hi all,

Could you please share your experience, how I can rent an accommodation (stuido/bachelor ) as the landlords asking for credit check and employment letter?

I have the required money for that (cash).
Any tips regarding open bank account or buying prepared mobile networks are much appreciated!

My suggestiom would be look for private owner via kijji, there are couple who are ok with 1st and last month rent.
