Rental Car in Canada with US DL

I plan to land in Canada from India and I do have a valid US Driving License. With it, will I be able to rent a car from Canada (Hertz may be) and get it insured too? Pls advice

Yes. Very much..as long as your US DL is valid.
However I advise you to Reserve now so that you do not have surprises at the Hertz counter (since you can always cancel the Reservation)

Rental - Yes with US License no problem in car rentals. You would need a major credit card as well. Get an Insurance for rental no problems.
Insurance - Close to impossible to get an insurance with US license when you buy a car. But no big deal. You can exchange your US license for Canadian one. Get driver extract from US DMV for that.
