Renouncing PR and reapplying !!

Can someone renounce PR voluntarily and apply for it again few months later due to personal reasons?
Anybody has ever done this before ? What are the chances of refusing the PR the second time because the candidate has once renounced the same in the past.
Please suggest.

You can, but most likely your new application will be selected for enhanced screening.
But why would you do it?

Instead of spouse sponsorship wherein the Couple don’t get a chance to live together unless the spouse has visitor visa , what if the person choose to give up PR, move back to home country to live with family and decide to apply together.... just a thought. I have seen few people asking about it.
