Renewing passport after submitting Citizenship application

Hello folks,
My wife submitted her Canadian citizenship application in April. CIC hasn't notified us that they have received the application yet. Her passport will expire in November, and she wants to renew it before then.
I'd like to know:
1. Is it a problem if she renew her passport. She used this passport to apply for her citizenship.
2. Does she need to notify CIC that she renewed her passport?

It does not take that long to renew the passport .

You can notify them after getting AOR
