Renewal of Work Permit

Hello friends,

I am a refugee claimant. I had applied for work permit last year. I was issued a work visa of 1 year. Now it is going to be expired in April. I would be grateful, if someone could answer my questions:

1. I submitted the following documents last time:
imm5710e.pdf , PASSPORT , Picture , Medical , Client Information , and Schedule 1 (imm5257b_1.pdf)
Do I need to submit any other document for renewal ? Maybe I can upload my previous work permit ?

2. Medical Documnt - The Expiry date of my Medical is Mar 2020. Does it mean that I don't need to do any medical again and submit the same document ?

3. For my first 6 months, I was on Social Services and once I got JOB, I stopped getting social assistance. Now I am doing my job and paying taxes. Is there any document that I must/should submit to mention that I need work permit because I am not getting any social assistance and I need it for my job continuation ?

1. You don't need more documents. Upload a new application form and the same supporting documents.

2. Your medical is still valid.

3. You don't need to explain your welfare/employment/tax history, they already have access to see all that.

I have everything ready but I am confused with one question.

3) I am applying for one or more of the following:
a. A work permit with the same employer
b. An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
c. Restoration of your status as a worker
d. Temporary Resident Permit


I selected c. Restoration of your status as a worker but it gives error and says to select

either a. OR b. with the c. option.

Can you please confirm if I am renewing my work permit. What options

You're renewing an open work permit. You need to choose option B.
