Renewal of Indian Passport

Hi friends!!

I am soon going to renew my Indian passport from BLS.I just want to know DO i need to send my original passport or only photocopies of the passport along with the application.

Well Sir,

you would carefully need to reread the checklist if you are asking us this questions and applying to CEC
However you could always send them an updated photo copy of your passport (new one) later on.
If you think your new passport is coming soon, then wait till it comes if not you can send the old one.
Just make sure at least there is like 3-5 mths left on the old one.

Thanks for your reply. I think i made a mistake while asking my query.Actually my query is Do i need to send an original passport or photocopies to BSL while filling out application forms for passport renewal.I have already got my PR through CEC.Now i just need to renew my passport.

You need to submit your original passport to BLS. Photocopies/notarized copies not accepted. They will CANCEL your original passport and return it back to you with your new passport.
