renewal of canadian PR CARD

My canadian PR CARD is expiring on Jan 2015. I was wondering if I can apply for the renewal of the same by Jan 2014? I mean can I apply for the renewal 1 year before its expiry date? I would appreciate if anybody let me know this matter.

If you are not changing your name, you can apply no more than 180 days before expiry.

Important information. Do not apply for a renewal of your current PR card if it is still valid for more than six (6) months (180 days), unless it is due to a legal name change. Otherwise, your application will be returned.
