Hello All,

Would greatly appreciate some advise on my predicament. I arrived in Canada on September of 2019 on a TRV (Multiple Visitor) and my six months is due next month. My plan was to fly back to my country in a week (18th of Feb 2020) and come back next month around the 20th of March. One of my friends mentioned that I will have to wait at-least six months in my own country before flying back else Immigration wont renew my status for another six months. Is this a valid concern? I have checked some resources but there is no mention of this.

If it would be a problem, what are the options available to me? applying for an extension? I had originally planned to apply for college in January but found a better Graduate certificate starting in May. And I have 474 points on my CRS and hope to apply for my PR soon too.

Any advise is greatly appreciated, thank you very much

There is no set rule but CBSA doesn't really like it when people live in Canada as visitors, so you may have issues returning again so soon after a 6 month stay.

Also, assuming you are planning to apply for a study permit, chances when applying from Canada, particularly after having been here for that long, are much lower. You need to be able to show strong ties to your home country to be approved.
