Hello Forum members.

I am a bit carefull with Canadian Immigration system. Therefore I seek expert advice / experience from all respected members.

I became Canadian Citizen in 2002. I sponsored my wife in 2000. She became permanent resident in 2001. In 2003 I got job outside Canada and we moved together outside Canada due to my job. Her PR card expired in 2008 which she never renewed.

My children will start university soon and we re planning to send them back to Canada. My both daughters are Canadians. One born in Canada and other born outside after I became Canadian Citizen.

Now the big question is my wife needs to renew her PR card. And we understand she needs to apply for travel document to travel to Canada to renew PR card. We dont want travel document to be rejected.

SO any advice / experience is appreciated...

She needs to prove that she has been living with her Canadian citizen spouse outside Canada for at least 730 days in the past 5 years.

So she needs to prove the following: That you are a Canadian citizen (copy of your Canadian passport / citizenship certificate), that you are married (copy of your marriage certificate) and proof that you live together which could be official documents that are in both your names like a deed to a house, rental contract, utility bills, tax records etc.

THANKS LEON,

I HAVE CANADIAN PASSPORT, CITIZENSHIP CARD & MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE.

FOR THE PROOF THAT WE LIVED TOGETHER I HAVE TWO THINGS;

1. HER RESIDENCE PERMIT WHICH IS KIND OF A STICKER PASTED IN THE PASSPORT EVERY THREE YEARS. ON THAT STICKER MY NAME IS MENTIONED. IT IS RENEWED EVERY THREE YEARS.

2. HER TELEPHONE BILL.

FURTHER SUGGESTIONS.

She can apply by herself. No need to get a lawyer.
