Hi Everyone,
I want to make sure my calculations are right. According to my PR card I am:
PR since: 2 April 2018
PR expiry: 4 July 2023
I have already spent 399 days in Canada. I am currently outside Canada and was wondering when is the last possible date to re-enter Canada. I guess the absolute last day for me to go back to Canada to collect the remaining (750-399) = 351 days before my 4 July 2023 expiry is... 18 July 2022. Is that how it is calculated?
1. I will go to Canada a month or two before in May/June 2022 but will I face any problems at the airport upon entering Canada because I have a year left on my card?
2. When do you apply for renewal? Do you have to wait for 4 July 2023 or can I put in the application a little before that date?
3. I noticed the card is valid for more than 5 years (2 April 2018 to 4 July 2023 is more than 5 years). I spent a month in Canada in April 2018 and the remaining 399 days were spent 2019-2020. Upon applying for PR renewal in 2023, will I be able to use the April 2018 days (30 days) I spent in Canada towards my 750 count because technically that would be more than 5 years prior.
