Renew of OHIP card for extended work permit application

Hi,
My current Work Permit expires on 1st Nov 2012 and so also the health card. I have already applied for the Work Permit extension and it seems that it would take around end of Dec to receive the new Work Permit extension.

My query is that in this case can I avail the benefit of OHIP between 1st Nov till end of Dec (whenever i receive the Work Permit extension)? Can I get my OHIP extended?

Hi,
I am facing a similar issue now. While doing medical my wife was pregnant and x-ray was not completed. Now CIC is holding my work permit extension due to this. hence i am not able to extend my OHIP. My wife is due by July first week and OHIP is expiring by June 24, 2014. Is there by any way i can renew the OHIP ? i have contacted Ontario Services and even CIC, but no luck so far.
