Hello, I got my PGWP through flagpolling almost a year ago. In my conditions, it is mentioned that I cannot work in childcare, healthcare professions. I am a healthcare worker and now I have been asked by my new prospective employer to have these conditions removed.
Can anybody explain in detail how I can do this both online and through flagpoling. I have got my upfront medical exam completed 2 week ago. I have all documentation. Only thing is, my study permit is now expired.

Please explain in detail how can I get new pgwp with these conditions removed?

Thank you

The instructions are here:
https://www.ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1647&top=17

1. Get an upfront medical exam from a panel physician
“Upfront” means you get your medical exam done before an immigration officer asks for it.

2. Apply to change your work permit conditions, and include all the required documents.
On the IMM 5710 form, for 1 a), under “Details of intended work in Canada,” select “Other.”
Also on the IMM 5710 form, for 1 b), under “Other,” write that you need the conditions removed (not authorized to work in childcare, primary/secondary school teachings, health service field occupations).

Since here (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/apply.html) it says the following:

"You must apply on paper if you’re extending or changing the conditions of your PGWP. You can only extend your PGWP if your passport expired before your PGWP’s validity period."

I did apply on paper in November last year, and they removed the condition within three weeks.

I put "Not Applicable for Post graduate work permit" in 2 and 4. For the duration of employment, I put from the date of submission to the end of PGWP.

Hello Everyone ! Thanks for these messages, I wasn't sure to be doing it right, it is not clear on the IRCC page. Your answers are gold to me ! Thank you so much for sharing !

I have two last questions for you: first question: on the first section, question number 3) I am not sure which box correspond to our case. Should I choose "Apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer" or "Apply for a work permit with the same employer ?" My second question: If I have been offered a new job to work on a hospital (I have a current job that I would leave as this condition is changed) should I complete questions 2) 3) 4) 5) on the section named: Details for intended work in canada with the information of my potential new employer? Thank you so much for your help !

1) "Apply for a work permit with the same employer"
2) you don't need to. I put "not applicable for PGWP" whenever it was mandatory to answer.

Hi there,
I'm also looking to apply to get these conditions removed from my PGWP. Does anyone know if we need to submit our original PGWP when we apply for these conditions changes? Or do we just submit a scan of the document? I've seen conflicting things online.

Also did anyone else have issues filling out the IM 5710 form online? Several of the boxes don't leave me with enough space to put my responses.

Thank you!

I submitted only a copy of the PGWP, not the original.

Hello everyone !

I hope you’re well. I have a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) that’s valid until 2026, and I’m changing jobs to work at a hospital in Montreal. I sent my application via Canada Post on May 28, 2024. Since then, I haven’t received any notifications from IRCC, neither a receipt nor a processing update. I have a tracking number and confirmed that my file was received in Edmonton, but I’m concerned that it’s been 10 weeks (as of today, August 14, 2024) without any updates. Is this normal ? Did they lose my file?

Is this delay typical? Could the summer period be affecting processing times? Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

Thank you for any advice or information you can provide. I’m quite worried about the status of my application. :(

Hi Camila, have you received any news? I've just sent my application this morning, and now I do not know what to expect. 10 weeks without any info is a lot :(
