Finally got a call from British Council yesterday for the refund of my EOR, applied 5 Dec and result, which too I called to know about, on 21 Feb. After more than 11 weeks of their rechecking I got the positive result. But by then I was only interested in the refund because IDP rechecked my Dec 2 test result and handed my TRF in 25 days!! Because of their promptness I saved CAD 1500 by withdrawing my OINP application. Furthermore they did the refund in just 2 days, that too directly into my bank account. Now BC called me to bring my passport and photocopy of the passport in order to collect the cheque, after 6 weeks of EOR result. Mind you they did charge me more than IDP for the EOR as well. BC is so ancient. I am never recommending British Council to anybody, let alone going there myself.

Anyway, to all the candidates who are confident that they did well in their Writing and Speaking and still didn't get the deserving score, go for the EOR, its worth the cost. All the best who are still waiting for their EOR result! Cheers.

I received my score today and would like to proceed with remark. I have taken the test in USA on 24th of March. How do I ensure that my EOR is sent to IDP but not BC, since I do not want go through all the pain that you have already gone through. As per my knowledge, the test center is not tied to BC or IDP as such, but I might be wrong. I will call the test center tomorrow to know the next steps. Meanwhile, if you can please provide any tips that might be helpful.

EOR acknowledgement email: 25th May (from exam center nothing from bc)
EOR Result: LRWS - 8.5/8.0/7.0/7.0

My CRS increased from 386 to 450 and got ITA on 07/12.

Center refunded My recheck fee of $160.

I got my result today and the score was L-8, R-8.5, S-7.5, W-6.5. I had taken my exam in Portland, USA & I will be applying for remark. Did your test center forward your EOR to IDP or BC? Also, can you please let me know after how many days, you got the result, considering that you received the acknowledgement on 12th May, 2017.

L- 8.5
R- 7.5
W- 6.5
S-8
Overall - 7.5

IDP took only 6-7 days to revalue it and besides that IDP was very helpful, I would recommend everyone taking IELTS in india to go with IDP as they are lightning quick in all the processes and very customer friendly too. I made a lot of enquiries to the IDP customer care and they replied all of my queries promptly and efficiently.

P.S. - I had taken an additional IELTS with BC while I was waiting and I got the following result

R-9
W-7
S-7

Also what is the normal processing time by BC for EOR?
Kindly suggest available options.
Also, I read online that if there is a band difference of 2 in any 2 sections, then it is auto re evaluated and no use of requesting for EOR. Is it true?

Congratulations on your EOR result. The joy of CLB 9 is something else. After 6 tries with British Council in 2 years I finally took a test with IDP, that too was a chance cos BC's date were all taken. Although I did get 6.5 in W initially with them too but I applied for EOR and it took 25 days to re-evaluate and then gave me the TRF on the very day. Refund in two days directly into my bank account. Compare that to BC's 11+ plus weeks for re-evaluation and 6 weeks for refund, that too by cheque. IDP has basically commercialized IELTS and it is in a sense a very good thing. Never again tortoise British Council. Its because of IDP's promptness, I got to save OINP fee which luckily was still under submitted after nearly 70 days. Happy days

The band difference thing is nothing but myth. I have band difference of 2 and I got positive EOR two times. Hence if you feel you have done well in the Writing part, I suggest you go for the EOR. However, I would like to mention, the time length for EOR for BC is painstakingly slow. It could take upto 14-15 weeks at worst and 8-10 weeks by earliest. You can expect 10-11 weeks on average for BC. All the best!

No worries mate. Well I don't know how it works over there in the States, but here in the sub-continent we book our test directly from either British Council or IDP. So when we apply for the EOR, it goes to the concerned authority by default. In fact in my place we have to go to their office to apply for EOR. You may have to check with your Test Centre. You must have the confirmation email, you should be able to know if its IDP or British Council from that email. Or else wait for your TRF. Good luck!

My case had two odds: 1) There was difference of more than 2 with other section, 2) I was expecting a jump of a band, which I was told not to expect by many. I was confident on my writing, as I tried to include most of the tips mentioned in those books.

I believe If you are confident of your writing, you should opt for EoR.

Thanks KingKurly, you have inspired me. I got 8.5,8.5,8,6.5 in R,S,L and W respectively and was discouraged by what I have read concerning the band score difference. You have brought new life to me and I will pay for EOR on Monday. My wife got 8,8,7.5 and 6.5. in L, R, S and W. Do you think we she should apply for EOR as well.

Which country did you take the exam. I did mine with IDP Nigeria and not sure how it will turn out because they are pretty new here.
