General IELTS
  • Listening - It is objective, answer is either right or wrong. Less/no chance of increase in EoR
  • Writing - It is subjective. Evaluation varies from one examiner to other. Higher chances of increase in EoR. However, If you want CLB 9, then retake IELTS, as Listening needs to be 8

Uh? I only took IELTS because it was mandatory during my PR process.

Never heard of CLB... according to this table my level should be somewhere between CLB 10 or 11.

Interesting.

Anyway, good luck to anyone who needs it.

If person has CLB 9 in each section of IELTS, then person get more points under Skill Transferability factors (If one is not in Canada).
You do not have CLB 9 each section and usually test takers for CIC purpose, try to target CLB 9 in each section, that's why I mentioned you about CLB.

L - 7.5 (CLB 8)
R - 8 (CLB 10)
S - 8.5 (CLB 10)
W - 6.5 (CLB 8)

Yeah, I did not get a 9 CLB in each section as I did the test quite irresponsibly at the time, never studied nor even knowing what were the tests like. When I did the CAE (like back in 2003) I did study.... so my understanding would be that if I really meant it I would get an 11 or 12 no problem.... that is what I mentioned it.

Anyway it is not of my interest an English exam, serves of little purpose for someone already settled as myself (and with a Canadian grad degree).

Now that I read the title of the thread, it seems that this is meant for retaking the exam? My bad, I thought we were just typing in our scores for show off.

Cheers to everyone and best of lucks in your future attempts.

I applied for EOR today. I would like to know how to check whether BC has received my request or not. I do not trust my local test center.
