Here's my brief story:
1st paper-based exam BC Dubai (L/R/W/S - 8.5/7.5/6.5/7.5)
EoR for W, unchanged:
EoR result came out after 17 days. I applied for EoR at the BC Dubai itself. They don't provide any acknowledgement at this point. You only receive an email upon completion -asking to collect TRF- and that's when the results are revealed -no hint of increase/decrease in the email-
2nd paper-based exam BC Dubai ( Exam Date: 5th Jan, 2019) (L/R/W/S - 8.5/7.5/6.5/7)
EoR for R & W, band score increased in W, band score remained unchanged in R:
EoR result announced in 21 days. You have the option to escalate your case from 21st day onward. So I did make an escalation call on the 21st day and 5 minutes after the call I received the same email that makes everyone fidgety. Again, no indication of the outcome so collected the new TRF without any delay and the result was exactly how I wanted, or well, maybe close (L/R/W/S - 8.5/7.5/7/7). Bummer for me on losing out 0.5 in Speaking from the first attempt so I might as well have remarked Speaking but it doesn't matter now I'm content with it.
I know It's frustrating how you try to make adjustments to your writing and there is no change in the score. I assumed the gap was in my essay writing so had chosen to follow essay format from IELTSADVANTAGE website. 6.5 again and I started doubting myself, IELTS at this point seemed like a deal-breaker as you never know what the line is between 6.5 and 7. But my confidence drove me on this one and you see it was a good decision at the end. So if you trust your gut, I'd say it's worth a gamble. I hope it helps Dubai based applicants about the process, I rarely noticed a candidate from here.
