Remaining PGWP refused, existing PGWP expired, how long can I stay?

Sorry I couldn't find any topic this specific.

So I got my work permit by flag poling last year, only got one year because my passport was expiring. Got my passport renewed, reapplied, refused. The HR at my work place says this could be because the officer who processed my PGWP at the border didn't leave a note that the work permit is a PGWP and PGWP could be renewed, or the officer who processed my renewal application made a mistake/didn't check my work permit properly.

So what can I do now? As far as I know there is no option to appeal.

I'm assuming worst case scenario and I'm ready to leave Canada. Mainly because I don't have family here and I won't be having any income. I need a few months to wrap up my things here but I'm not sure how much time I have. Can I apply for visitor visa to extend my stay here? My work permit expired, I was working under implied status, and my TRV has expired.

I appreciate all the help and advice. Thank you.

According to CIC it should be stated int he refusal letter.
It may or may not say 90 days or immediately.

I am not sure if you can apply for a restoration of status but it may be a good idea to dig into it.

The letter says I may apply for restoration in 90 days. Does that mean I get to stay for 90 days?

If I want to stay more then 90 days, I guess I have to apply for the restoration? In that case I can legally stay but not work more than 90 days while I wait for the decision. I'm just trying to extend it so that I could go on a trip in Canada or something.

Hello there,

Did your previous PGWP say that you could extend it after renewing your passport?
The 90 days are given to you to apply for restoration of your status in Canada. However, you cannot study or work in Canada until your application for restoration has been processed. Once your status has been restored, you can then move onto reapplying for a change on your PGWP because of obviously the expiration of your previous passport. You will have to explain your situation thoroughly.

Cheers!

What does flag poling mean? dosent a PGWP have to be issued after school. If you did a 4 years degree program u should get 3 years. If not its most likely something different u should have been given.
