Am currently in Montreal, I find that there not so many jobs in here, will it be wiser if I move to Toronto?

thanks

Depends on the area in banking. Currently, banks are not doing that well and there are some job cuts here and there. However, it should not discourage you from applying as from my experience, they are always looking for qualified personnel. There are some areas like reporting, risk analytics and compliance that are slightly more in demand. However, I am providing my opinion only from the limited experience I have.

Canada has five big banks. All of them are headquartered in Toronto with the majority of jobs and employees located there. That alone should tell you something.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your response, I definitely know which way am heading to. The fields that were mentioned that's what am looking for. If anyone can advise how I should organise my job hunt, appreciated.

Thanks!!!

you can apply directly though bank's hr websites. Many banks are also hiring external contractors, so applying to recruitment agencies might also help you out in job hunt. Also, there are insurance companies and OTPP that recruit people with banking background.
Depending on the area of banking, it's useful to have CFA/FRM or at least actively pursue it. Good luck

Yes - the CSC can be useful as well.

It's extremely easy to get (compared to CFA) and many many people have it. But still worthwhile.

I am in Toronto !!!! :D :D :D

congratulations and good luck! If you don't find a job right away, expect more openings after New Years as bonuses get paid out and people start shifting around.
