Relinquishment & Express Entry Application

Hi All. I had a PR few years back but I had to move to UAE as my family was here and I had some personal reasons to move. So my PR expired. Now I want to go back to and Ian eligible via Express entry. My local agency here, is asking me to submit a Relinquishment application along with my Express entry final application. They are saying this should be fine.

Anyone else faced similar situations?? If so how did you go about it? Anyone got rejected due to the relinquishment issue?

You need to submit the relinquishment application much earlier. You want the relinquishment to be granted BEFORE you receive ITA. At the time you receive ITA, you must qualify to be selected. PRs don't qualify.

Hi, thanks for the reply. but I have already received the ITA.. and haven’t yet given my old pr for renunciation.. my agency is asking me to submit yhe cancellation now with my Express entry application... I was wondering that too, why I would get the ita if my pr wasn’t cancelled...?
