Some of our emails to each other are quite explicit.

Can I redact those parts, or does CIC need to see it all?

Hi, some just printed out a screen shot of their inbox/oitbox to show the emails sent/ received . But ifu wanna print the emails out, but u feel some parts of the it are too private, but some parts are just fine, u can black them out with a sharpie, (maybe u can indicate why u blacked them out too ) ;p

I wouldn't recommend blocking some parts of the e-mail with a sharpie or a wipe-out. Just print out the inbox screen if you don't feel comfortable with email's actual content. I myself didn't include emails where I didn't feel ok showing it to somebody esle. It's just too private and I didn't want somebody else to read it, especially have it on file in the consulate.

Actually quite a few people recommend blacking out private things with a sharpie. It's completely understandable that a couple would say private things to each other and CIC understands that. If the email contains things you think would be important in proving the strength of your email and there's a couple "for your eyes only" lines in there, it's worth blacking them out to include the email and mention in your cover letter that some private exchanges have been blacked out for that reason.

Just sharing other people's opinion on this topic: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t92120.0.html;msg1189491#msg1189491

I would suggest you leave it as it is after all VOs are human beings too. This will help them know that distance is not good for a relationship. They need to approve PR on time.

Agreed. We blacked out a couple of things in skype IMs and emails that we just didn't think anyone other than us would like reading :P But we also just left a couple of "mildly inappropriate" things in, because they weren't to x-rated, and because, lets face it, according to the OP2 manual, a sexual relationship is part of a genuine relationship!
