relationship proof ???????

I have a question regarding the relationship proof.

I sat down today and read all the letters from our friends and family, my letter and my partner's letter and I felt like I was re reading the same thing over and over again.

Especially in my letter and my partner's, we pretty much said the exact same things.

Will this be a problem? Or will it be beneficial as it shows consistency??


Now I feel like there's no point in in including both, which would be a shame coz we both put our hearts into writing them.

If you and your partner's letter say the same things but with different words, that is good. If the support letters look too much the same, the visa officer might suspect you just wrote them yourself and had the people sign them. But if they are basically saying the same thing, just not with exactly the same words, that is fine.
I'd send both relationship letters.

If the gist of them is the same, you should be fine as long as it's not word for word the same thing. All of my letters were typed and signed by the various people who wrote them. The message was generally the same and I just got my PPR with no need for an interview.

The letters from friends and family are mostly typed, but some are hand written. They are not word for word at all, but they reference the same things, same experiences, which I guess is normal.

I guess my main problem is that they follow the same format. Who they are, how they met the other partner and after they give their own account of our relationship. Which is probably my fault because I sent the same email to everyone asking for these 3 things to be included in their letters.

Mine and my partner's letters are both typed but mine is in english and his is in french.


Am I just having last minute bouts of paranoia???

i had that feeling too!! but it's normal to sound the same since it's about the same relationship they kept all our letters, so i imagine they read them all and it was ok; many of our other proofs were not touched so maybe they got a lot of what they wanted from there; if you apply conmon-law u need to have 2 of those letters notarized; good luck!!

one would think so.

I heard from my MP.......after I won the appeal (August 2012) the file was sent to Mex city (i believe in error since I have read many times it should go to Ottawa as part of Pilot project). They now tell me it is in Ottawa. They tell me my partner should be here within the next 12 months. I guess it doesnt matter if its original application or appeal, even though they tell me successful appeals are handled differently and ''fast tracked' They dont know what they are doing !!!!!

Any suggestions. are more than welcome !


Is there any use in '''writ of mandamus" do any seniors know ? Im at my wits end and ready to camp out at MP office, and Parliament buildings, media etc .....

You know, going to the media doesn't hurt. It may well not help either, or they may just not be interested in printing your story, but there have been several large articles in the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix about immigrant problems, and sometimes the people involved do get results.

Probably last minute paranoia! but it's Ok...
If the letters follow the same format, that's fine - it's logical. As long as they are not all the same words, then it's OK. Same for your partner's account, and yours. Don't worry about it!
