Hi experts,

I am in the middle of filling out the PR forms to sponsor my husband. We have been married for 2.5 years, we live together, and have a daughter together. In the form it states if you have those you do NOT need to submit more proof of a genuine marriage. But I've also read that one mistake people make is ONLY including the info the CIC asks for and nothing extra.

I was going to send the required documents (marriage certificate, lease agreements, bills in the same address, etc) as well as some letters from friends and employers.

But should we also include photos of us together, emails, plane tickets, etc?

Thanks!

You have to include 20 photos regardless. We did not bother with emails, but included travel tickets to demonstrate I met his family a number of times in Ireland.

Okay, I will do at least 20 then. It is interesting because nowhere that I can see on the forms does it say this...so confusing!

Really? We didn't send in that many - maybe a dozen wedding and holiday family photos at the most. They didn't ask us for more.

Yes, it's maximum, not minimum. You don't have to submit exactly 20. Many people do less, but if you didn't submit any it may raise concern.

Yes, you definitely want to have some photos.

Incorrect. The spousal checklist states that if the couple answers YES to questions 7a-7d, they are not required to submit additional proofs. If they can't answer YES to those 4 questions, then they are required to submit additional proofs, including photos.

Yep, stand corrected, my bad. Personally, I'd never submit without photos, though.

In future, don't hijack threads that have nothing to do with your query.

Yes, you need to inform IRCC. Note that once you are married, you are no longer a dependent. You will be removed from the app and will not become a PR.
