Rejection of My Visitors Visa Application

I am disappointed that I am getting my first Visa Rejection from the Canadian Embassy, I applied with my wife after stating that we are travelling together for our honeymoon.
I got the message that they are not satisfied that I will leave Canada at the end of our stay as a temporary resident, paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR

it is not clear what I need to provide to convince the embassy that I am not planning to relocate.

I applied with all documents required, I have had a very good job in my base for over 12years now, I provided evidence of the house I own here.

this is really unclear and took a lot of time to get the application done, what do I do next please?

it is not clear what I need to provide to convince the embassy that I am not planning to relocate. ---> home ties, like a letter from employer approving leaves or house/property in your name. This is a standard procedure.

Please provide the exact reasons for rejection - s.179(b) is very wide, and your reasons for rejection are often more specific, though not always clear.

Also please provide your full profile, including the documents you provided, and the same for your spouse. To offer any insight into your case, we need to know a lot more about you, what you supplied when you applied, and the reasons for refusal.

“I am not satisfied that you will leave canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident as stipulated in paragraph 179bof the IRPR,based on the purpose of your visit”. That was the content of the letter.

Apppication numbers V322555699 and V322555699

I supplied my employment letter, introduction from my company, bank statement, my properties documents and other documents requested, I only didn’t put my current US Visa (I don’t know if that helps), I didn’t have the visa at the time.

I had heard from my colleague that the Canadian embassy will always revert to me if they need additional documents, I would have liked more information so as to know if I should be applying in future or not. I have several visas from everywhere except Australia and I always come back home

They will not ask for more documents. If you do not provide enough information for them to make a decision, they will reject it. Your colleague was sadly wrong. A visa application is reviewed on the strength of what is submitted. A visa officer does not pause consideration to tell you that you haven't submitted enough documents and ask you kindly to send more.

What did you provide in your statement of purpose for the travel? Did you highlight in your letter ties that you have back home that require you to leave Canada at the end of the stay? A purpose of travel rejection means that the visa officer doubted that you were a genuine visitor as you described it, and because it was both you and your wife applying, they felt you were at risk of overstaying or claiming asylum.

I wrote that I am only travelling with my wife as part of our honeymoon year and I also wrote that I am using my annual vacation, I provided all documents relating to my current job and properties that I have, is it possible that if my wife doesn’t have a current job it is a problem?
That’s the only part of my application that I was not sure about, but because she is travelling with me I felt it was not a problem

If the visa officer feels that there are not enough reasons for you to return home, yes, that would be an issue.

Have you travelled to the US since you received a US visa? If you have, that may help.

If you re-apply, you need to identify reasons that will bring you back home. Explain those to the visa officer in the letter. And explain why you chose Canada over the rest of the world to apply.

From which country did you apply?

Okay - unfortunately, because so many people from Nigeria have tried to claim asylum in Canada, there is extreme scrutiny of tourist visa applications from Nigeria. Unless you have very strong reasons to return home and a very solid reason to visit Canada as opposed to anywhere else in the world, you will be rejected again.

Why have you chosen Canada for your honeymoon as opposed to anywhere else in the world? You need to be able to explain this clearly in your next application.

Thanks, I can understand the image we have as Nigerians even with America.

Canada and Australia are the major countries I have not been to, we are targeting the tennis Australian Open next year and felt Canada this year will be a new place that both of us will enjoy. ( because we both love travelling we had pencilled down 4 countries this year, we did bali Indonesia already, doing london In June-we have the UK Visa already. I have 10years Uk Visa)

I wish there are easier ways to know the honest applicants, I do not think I will apply again especially because it’s not clear the exact reason why I was rejected, the process is a tedious one but I really appreciate you responding

The Australian open is a good reason to visit Australia - what kind of other reasons do you have to visit Canada?

I would suggest you apply after you visit London, and use that as proof that you abide by visa requirements and do not overstay.

But you need solid reasons why you want to visit Canada. What is it that you want to do in Canada that you cannot do anywhere else?

Very true. But in a case where a Nigerian have a professional examination to write in Canada and also no intention to claim asylum there.
Do you think such an applicant will be rejected?

Yes.

Is the professional examination only available in Canada? Nowhere else in the world?

Also, start your own thread if this is your question, please, as this has nothing to do with the OP's post.
