I had applied for temporary visitor's visa, which was refused, on the grounds stating that
1) "You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including: Travel history

2) Other reason:- "Given economic conditions, employment prospects, considering your travel history, economic establishment and family ties, I am not satisfied that you would respect the terms of your admission
as a temporary resident in Canada

I already have a return air ticket. What are the choices before me to obtain visitors' visa.

Hello everyone,my name is Esther. My TRV application was refused yesterday, on the following grounds.

You have not satisfied me that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors, including:
travel history
purpose of visit
current employment situation
personal assets and financial status

please note that i am a 5th year medical student in ukraine(which is not my home country). From september 1st, i will be in my final year of medical school. I applied for the TRV because i was offered a one month medical observership in saskatchewan, canada(i didn't get an invitation letter to this effect, my supervisor said i should submit our email conversations and the forms that filled) i would like to reapply for the visa. what do i need to add to or subtract from my application.

You'll need to tell us what documents you included with your original application.

Hey everyone,

I'm dealing with the same situation as well. My boyfriend (I'm Canadian in Canada) just applied for a visitor visa while in Egypt and was refused for similar reasons. I'm having trouble brainstorming proof that he will return to Egypt. He is registered in school and has one year left. He showed proof of this but was still rejected. I showed proof that I'm returning to Egypt as well... Both of our plane tickets (round trip) are purchased. So frustrating!

I'm going to try applying again but its not looking good. Some info that I got from an immigration consultant for other things you could show as proof that you will return back to your home country are:

-signed affidavits from family members that may depend on you in your home country-- all of their passports and I.Ds included in the application.
-letters of support from professors that speak of your seriousness and commitment to your studies (their I.D should be included as well. These letters should be signed and notarized)
-You need to show that you are a part of and involved in your community: do you volunteer, are you a member of a sports team, do you have a religious leader that can write you a letter. Think of anything that you are involved in and then you need to show proof of this involvement.
-Do you know anyone important in your community that can write you a character reference-- they believe you will return, you show good character ect. (doctor, police officer, lawyer, politician ect.)
-proof of employment and letter from your boss saying you are coming back-- paystubs from work
-If you are showing your travel history you will need to show visas, scan all of the stamps in your passport, even submit pictures of your travels and then get all of this notarized by a public notary

Even if you show all of this stuff the outcome still doesn't look good for young, single people coming from certain countries like Egypt. There cannot be a shadow of a doubt in the immigration officers mind that the applicant will overstay their visitor visa. Thats pretty difficult to prove for someone who doesn't own property, doesn't have a terminally ill family member or a high paying job.

How long a trip did he request? The length of his trip could also potentially be a problem. I would recommend you keep your trip to 2-3 weeks tops.

Also note that those of us on this forum never recommend purchasing plane tickets until after the visa is approved. Purchasing tickets doesn't strengthen the application (you can simply provide a propose itinerary) - and if the visa is refused, plane tickets are typically non-refundable and often go to waste.

Good luck with your application.

Well the plane ticket was booked with aeroplan points so luckily it won't be a financial cost to us. We knew there was a very real chance he wouldn't get the visa but it was still so disappointing to get rejected.

His trip is booked for 4 weeks. I'm hoping that providing affidavits signed by my coworkers ( I work for an immigration settlement agency) stating that they believe I fully understand the laws around visitor visas and wouldn't assist someone in breaking the law. Plus affidavits from police officers who are close with family stating that they believe we will not assist someone in staying illegally and that we will provide financial support for his visit. My boss already wrote me a letter stating that my position in Canada is only a contract and I am going back to Egypt once I finish. Plus a rental agreement signed by me for a place in Cairo in January and my plane ticket back in January. So I think I have enough proof that I am not reason for him to overstay.

However, I'm not confident at all about enough proof for him to have reason to go back to Egypt :( On his end he will also be gathering the same type of letters from the place where he volunteers plus family friends that have good jobs and his family members...

Hi, I applied for visitors visa for 18 days. given return air tickets, accommodation booking, invitation letter. But got rejected basis same reasons economic ties and employment prospects and travel history, support from family in Canada.
I had not given proof for assets for my parent. Working on economic ties and employment prospects. But what to show for travel history. I travelled Dubai with family on tourist visa and Iraq for a pilgrimage with family. What documentation should I do for travel history.
I am looking forward to visit my friend in Canada who has given me invitation letter but she has also recently moved so do not have strong bank balance.
Suggestions please to make the visa application strong. Thanks!

I would include stamps in your passport that show you went to Dubai and Iraq. You could even include pictures. Make sure to get all of this notarized by a public notary to verify they are true. You could write a letter explaining that you have travelled and state the dates and the purpose of your other trips.

Elsewhere in the letter, was it checked that you are banned for 5 years from entering Canada? Not declaring a previous visa refusal counts as misrepresentation, which results in a 5 year ban.

In case you are not banned, you are very lucky. You can attempt to apply again. There is no "replying" after a refusal.
