From the thread, you know I tried to visit my brother (who has his PR) but I was Refused a visa on the basis of the following:

1) I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.

2) I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

I have recently graduated with a BBA (International Business), with a 77% overall percentage but, I had poor marks in 12th with 55%, as I still have failed theory in chemistry (science PCM) but I did not fail in the rest of my subject so overall I passed 12th). I have an IELTS overall of 7.5 with no band less than 6.0 and I am applying for a North American business management diploma.

Will my previous failure and rejection affect my student visa application? Anything specific I can write to strengthen my SOP and increase my chances of getting a student visa?

Don't go for a simple diploma. You'll be putting yourself on the path for another refusal.

You already have a bachelor, so you should be planning to study at the post graduate diploma level in Canada.

Make sure you declare your previous refusal in your application.

I apologize, for not clarifying it at the beginning, it is a post-graduate diploma.

Never heard of that university and that diploma. Is that a private institution? Because you should not opt for a private on.

Ok then you should be fine. I think you will need to explain in your SOP why you are going for a Business Diploma. It will be extremely generic and the title North American Business does not mean much.

oh ok, my course does offer concentrations, so I can mention that and follow that route, to make it unique.
Yes, that could be a good idea. And what was your previous educational and professional background? To make sure that the intended program can help you achieve a good career progression.

I have 2 months worth of work experience, where I worked for a 3-month government-funded project on evaluating cleanliness based on the documents provided, (my main task was communicating between different parties to ensure the document is collected safely), I left this job midway (though I still have the job contract as proof). This was during my gap year between 12th (where I did science but did not score good marks), and bachelor, ( I have written in my SOP, the work experience among other things prompted me to change my field,), I graduated from my university on July 2021.

Change field? What is your Bachelor major and its GPA? Field changing can be very troubling something.

Then you are not changing field. And 2 months of work experience is way too short for anyone to develop an interest in any field of study so I dont think you should include that in your SOP. Visa officers won't believe in such things. Maybe something more obvious, for example the connection between international business and the intended program. They both belong to the business field and should not pose any difficulty for you to explain the common things between them.

Just to confirm, changing from doing science In high school (senior secondary education) and taking a year gap then pursuing business, would not be considered as changing field?
