Reissuing new Indian Passport!!

Hello friends!!

I have applied for OINP under outland FSW.

While filling the OINP form there was a clause mentioning that passport should have validity of at least 2 yrs. Unfortunately, my passport will get expired in December 2017. I need to renew it.

I tried calling PSK, they told me that it is almost impossible to reissue passport unless you change any info. Pls suggest me how can I move further and get it renewed.

Describe whole procedure.

The best thing to do is make some changes in the existing passport so you could get a new one.

For eg:

1. If you have moved house- change of address option
2. Addition of spouse name (if you are married and haven't added spouse name yet)

Its not possible to renew. Many countries dont allow to renew passport if its more than one year left for expiry.

Have you read the instructions?
Your passport should be valid for at least two more years. If you are unable
to renew your passport prior to applying to the program, you must apply with
your current passport with an explanation of why your passport could not be
renewed at the time of the application.

Just apply with current passport and explain in your letter saying its not possible to renew (based on current rules) when more than 1 year left on validity and you would renew within 1 year of expiry.

I have applied with this passport only. What problem I encountered was that I haven't enclosed letter of explanation stating my condition why the passport cannot be renewed. I am bit worried about it. However, now I have mailed as well as faxed them the letter. Hope it will suffice.
