I am going to apply rehabilitation due to my past criminal offence. Knowing that it might takes long time to get approved, may I know whether I can use eTA or TRP to enter Canada when rehabilitation is in progress? Which one should I apply, or what is the sequence to do it?

Thanks and looking forward to get some hints as I am very confused on it. Thanks!

You cannot use an eTA to enter Canada while you are inadmissible.

You will need to apply for a TRP if you wish to enter Canada while the rehab application is being processed.

May I also know when apply TRP, I have to provide a reason of why I want to enter Canada before rehabilitation is approved. Is accompanying wife for her study period settle down together take caring of our child a strong reason? Will it affect her study permit?

Thanks!

Yes - you need to demonstrate a strong argument for why you need to be allowed to enter Canada while inadmissible. I don't know if IRCC will see this as a strong reason.

If your wife's study permit has already been approved, your TRP application will have no impact on that application. If your wife's study permit has not yet been approved, then it's possible the TRP may weaken her application.

In general families aren’t guaranteed permits/visas to accompany international students even if they are admissible.

Thanks, may I also know when applying rehabilitation, if the court proof that they have destroyed the documents due to long time ago. In this case, I can only write based on my memory, will it affect my application? Thanks

How long ago was this? Court documents are normally stored for a few decades.

IRCC will want to see the court documents. If you no longer have them, you should request them from the jurisdiction where this occurred.

Then you'll have to apply using that document the court gave you.
