I am sure you can get a job with just your SIN number without actually providing the work permit document

Depends entirely on employer, some as soon as they see the leading 9 in SIN number they know you are temporary residence and want to see the work permit.

I need a small advice, since during covid the processing time has largely increased to almost 200 days and additionally the pace of hiring too is low right now along with the uncertainty if they require an actual work permit rather than a submitted application, is it better if I apply for pgwp in my home country itself ?
