Dear Friends,

I'm hiring an agency in Canada to help me get a work permit and LMO, i sent them 250 USD as a processing fee. They sent me some forms to fill up including Perminant residency forms and others about myself and family. They said that they will get My LMO and everythin approved within 6 to 8 months. However, they asked me to pay another fee (550.00 CAD) in favour of RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA . This government fee.
I don't want to go to Canada as a Permenant Resident but as a temporary worker because i only have certificates by my previous employers and no proves (CNSS). But they told me that's all a part of the work permit.
Please let me know if all the information above are right, if so how can i pay the Government fee? From my country (Morocco).
I just want to make sure that i'm doing the right thing.
Thank you for all your help with me.

Best regards

Fisherman,
It sounds fishy. A legitimate agency would know the difference between a temporary work permit and permanent residence. As you already know, the PR application has nothing to do with a TWP and an LMO has nothing to do with a PR application. And, as you know, there's a lot of documentation required for the permanent residence application - make it clear to them that you are not prepared to submit this documentation, you only want the TWP and if they keep pushing you, ask for you, ask for your money back. You probably won't get it, but you'll get out of a scam relatively cheaply...

Hi,
Beware that just employers can obtain LMO for you. So no agency or representative can help you in that matter (unless you are in a LMO exempt category and therefore it is not required)

Eligibility to apply from outside Canada
To apply for a work permit from outside Canada, you must submit the following documents:

a job offer from a Canadian employer
a completed application, that shows that you meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, and
written confirmation from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) that the employer can hire a foreign worker to fill the job. This confirmation is called a positive labour market opinion.
In most cases, it is up to your employer to get that written confirmation. Information on the labour market opinion is found under Information for Canadian employers on the right-hand side of this page.
In some cases, you do not need a labour market opinion. (See Jobs that require a work permit but no labour market opinion.)
You must also do the following:

Satisfy a visa officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your work permit.
Show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family while you are in Canada.
Respect the law and have no criminal record. (You may have to provide a police clearance certificate. See Police Certificates for more information.
Show that you are not a risk to the security of Canada.
Be in good health. (You may have to have a medical examination.)

Thank you for your responses my friends. I was in contact with the president of the agency and he clarified everything to me; they know employer that can sponsor me to get an LMO and this is going to help with my PR cuz i will be having an arranged employment contract.
Does anyone of you know how to send a Bank draft from Morocco to the government of Canada for the immigration services ?

Thank you ELAR AND JES-ON.

Well, first you say you don't want PR and now you do? Which is it?

In my opinion there is NO WAY you should send the $550 for the PR application at this stage. You do not yet have an LMO or temporary work permit, or alternatively an AEO or any of the documentation for PR. You do not pay that fee until the time your PR application is submitted, and they should not be asking for this now.

You will do what you want to do, I suppose. Read this first, then good luck -
