Hello, I am a healthcare professional (doctor) from India. I have received the Immigrant visa and have a COPR which is valid till 31 May 2021. I have booked Air India ticket on May 1 2021. I have certain questions.

1. Being a healthcare professional, am i exempt from the restricitions?
2. Should i apply for Authorisation letter?
3. Does the authorisation letter approval or rejection get reflected in our profile?
4. if my COPR gets expired, then would they allow us to travel in future or we have to apply from the begining?

Please guide me and do the needful. Thankyou in advance.

1. Do you have a job? If not, no. Just being a doctor doesn’t give you an exemption. What province are you licensed in?
2. When was your COPR issued. If after March 20, 2020, you can’t enter on your COPR so you will need authorization to prove essential travel.
3. It can be rejected if you don’t have an essential reason to travel.
4. If it expires, it will be renewed. All the information is on the website.

You are only exempt if you have immediate or extended family members in Canada. Depending on who your family members in Canada are, you may need to apply for an authorization letter.

Being a health care professional unfortunately does not make you exempt.

Looking for some thoughts here or if anyone had done it in past
My Fiancé is a PR in Canada

given Im an extended family member- can I request an exemption letter for the purpose of meeting my fiancé and having our marriage registered in Canada?
Will marriage be considered essential?
