Regarding to canadian work experience

Hello Guys,
I have done two years studies in Canada and my job is related to my teaching field. my old company is not providing me job reference letter. But I have some colleagues who are working there this time also and my supervisor who left the job after me. I can get a recommendation letter from them. Is this would be fine if I attached recommendation letters instead of work experience letter with my file. What needs to be included in a recommendation letter. If anyone else faced the same problem then share your experience with me, please...
