Regarding the e-visa after surrendering the Indian passport

Hello everyone,

I recently acquired Canadian citizenship and applied for a Canadian passport. I have a trip planned to India in October. I surrendered my India passport to BLS today, and they gave me an ARN No to track it.
My question is, Can I apply for an e-visa, or do I need to wait to get it back from the passport service?
I received my citizenship certificate on August 2024.

E-visa in most cases comes within 24 hours. So you can apply nearer to your trip date.

E-visa is not dependent on surrender certificate.
