regarding submission of experience letter.. please advice

i have aproblem . i am currently working in same job for last 5 years. but i cant get the detailed letter from my previous employer. i only have the experience letter from them, which says duration of work post and salary drawn .. what do u suggest i should do. can i write a self explanatory note stating my duties and responsbilities.please suggest

dear sir,
canadian embassy asked me to send my supporting documents to embassy. i am working in current job for last 5 years.i got the experience letter from my current employer in the format suggested the authorities. but problem is with getting the letter from my previous work experience. i only have the letter stating my post, duration of work , salary drawn, but it does not have the duties and responsbilities. what do you suggest should i do? should i write a affidavit in stamp paper giving details about my job , and resposbilities.

please help me
