Regarding PR card

hi everyone,
I landed in Canada on 3rd January 2012 with my family, but I had to travel to my home country without having PR card. I contacted Canada immigration and they told me that I can travel to home country without PR card, but I need travel document to come back to Canada.
my wife told me that she received my PR card yesterday.
my question is that:
how she can send PR card: by mail/post?
Is it right way to send PR card or custom have some issues
I am not sure what method I need to get my card
can she send me by post?
share your experience please as I am unable to make a decision.

1. Have her send it by courier, less chance of it getting lost. No it is not illegal to send PR cards outside Canada.
