Getting visa doesn't necessarily mean that you can enter that country without any issues, immigration office is the one who can grant or deny your entry. Although denying doesn't happen frequently, but yes they have all the powers to deny your entry to the country if you don't provide proper supporting documents or convincing answers. Visa is nothing but a validity and its the immigration officer at the port of entry who decides how long you are going to stay or whether you have to be deported back.
Trust me, I have seen people getting deported in the US airport. because of not being able to provide proper supporting documents or convincing answers. I have not yet traveled to Canada but I assume it would be the same case everywhere.
